Erin Black

National Safeguarding Quality Assurance Lead

Erin is a safeguarding specialist driven to improve systems in organisations that empower vulnerable communities.  She has over 15 years’ experience in governance, policy, quality systems and practitioner expertise, including as an executive leader and board consultant.

Her current work leads UCA’s Safeguarding Assurance Framework, providing insights and data which shape engagement and action across the Church as it lives its commitment to the wellbeing and safety of children and young people.

Erin has extensive experience working in safeguarding settings with vulnerable children, women and adults connected with child protection, disability, education, mental health and justice services.

Her expertise has contributed to Royal Commissions, coronial and police investigations, quality and compliance accreditations. She has led the development of many contemporary frameworks for community organisations, including UnitingCare Queensland, UnitingCare Community, Jabiru Community Youth and Children’s Services Association, and the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association.
